Default Nicest and rudest NHLers you've met

Sergei Fedorov was one of the nicest players I've met. He chatted with me and a couple buddies for almost 20 minutes where we talked about everything from the Stanley cup to his wife at the time Anna Kournikova. Very nice guy.

Also met Warrener and Wiemer while they were working out at NSD and Wiemer actually came and took a few shots with us. It was clear why his NHL career wasn't the greatest. Both were nice, but Warrener seemed shy.

Ray Bourque is a complete A-hole. That's all I'll say about him.

Phaneuf almost got jumped and beat up by about 6-7 guys in the Cowboys washroom the only time I've met him.

Ray Emery. We have a mutual friend and went out for drinks when he was in town in 2010. Super nice guy, would not let me pay for anything. Had a good time. Also met up some of his other teammates. Mike Richards, Dan Carcillo, Scott Hartnell .. all nice guys as well.

I have yet too meet a player that i would call rude.

Robyn Regehr. Seemed like a bit of a jerk to me. His brother however, was super super nice.

Met Brad May on several occasions and several members of his family.... They are hilarious, Brad is actually on the small side for his family. His brothers are bigger. They were very down to earth and highly entertaining.

Most I have met were very nice but the funniest had to be Todd Simpson. He was a beast on the ice and a riot off.

Met McCarty and Regehr at the Back Alley after a win in the playoffs of 04. McCarty was super nice and chatted for a bit, Regehr basically just ignored me and turned away. Jerk lol!

When working for the team, I found Iggy to be the nicest and Oliwa was the biggest jerk

McCarty was a Wing then? Seems odd he and Regehr would be hanging out after a playoff game.

I've met Risebrough, Tonelli, and Shanahan. All really nice, very willing to spend time chatting. Haven't met any jerks.

edit: Forgot to mention meeting Viktor Tikhonov when I volunteered at the '88 Olympics. Nice big smile (and no English) when he saw my reaction to seeing and recognizing him. Apparently, though, not a good guy, but a good coach

Cliff Ronning was a total wanker when I had to deal with him for Lacrosse. We both coached Novice teams and he would always try and steal my floor time for practice. I also went to school his daughter, who seemed to think she was Queen Latifah.

Every other Canuck I've ever seen was nice, especially Linden and Burrows.

Nicest, by a landslide John Tonelli

Rudest Robyn Regher thought he was a bit of a dick, second place Carey Wilson, then Al Maciness

Noodles and Conroy two nicest players I've met. Chris Pronger by far the rudest NHLer I've met, hated him ever since I met him when I was 11; was my favorite NHLer before that.

There seems to be a trend about the rudest already... I've never met him, but it kind of surprises me.

One of my favorite NHLer moments was with Jiri Hudler, when a bunch of the Red Wings were at the Roxy the night before a game.

Me:
Hey, good luck tomorrow night

Hudler: Yeah, Vancouver has a lot of great restaurants to eat at.

Also that night, Chelios walks in with his huge grin and his hands in the air, triggering a chorus of boos from a bunch of people.

Is your friend a goalie from calgary?

I met Olli Jokinen and Brian Allen after that florida game where Iggy hurt his ankle for 12 games. Both were awesome and very polite considering how drunk i was. Olli was just a nice guy, I told him it was a good game and that he played well. Allen was really worried and sympathetic about Iggy cuz they fought earlier and he wanted to make it clear that the injury was not related to the fight.

Met Commodore when he brought the cup back from carolina too, only shook his hand quickly. he was going wild though

Maybe just introverted? Sometimes that comes off as rude.

Fans like to be coddled and hugged.
