Default Dec 26 - WJC: CAN vs GER (5:30AM MT) & CZE vs USA (9:30AM MT) TSN

Germany vs Canada 5:30AM on TSN. Replay at 5:30PM Thursday on TSN

German Roster:
http://stats.worldjunior2013.com/Hyd...seys/GER_A.jpg
2014 Draft Notables: Leon Draisaitl

Leon Draisaitl projects to be the highest ever German to be taken in the NHL draft. Projected to be a 2014 top 7 pick by many scouting services.

Canadian Roster:
http://www.worldjunior2014.com/en/teams/canada/#list
2014 Draft Notables: Sam Reinhart, Aaron Ekblad
2015 Draft Notables: Connor McDavid

Jake Patterson will start in goal for the Canadians and appears to have won the starting job for the rest of the tournament. Griffin Reinhart still has to serve a 3 game supension (including this one).

Czech Republic vs United States 9:30AM on TSN. Replay at 1:30AM Friday on TSN2

Czech Roster:
http://www.worldjunior2014.com/en/te...republic/#list
2014 Draft Notables: Jakub Vrana, David Pastrnak, Ondrej Kase
2015 Draft Notables: Pavel Zacha

Jakub Vrana was once considered to be a top 15 pick for the upcoming draft but his stock has dropped him to a late 1st round/early 2nd round pick.

Pavel Zacha is turning heads as a 16 year old 6'3'' 203lbs physical forward and is projected to be a 1st round pick in the 2015 draft.

USA Roster:
http://www.worldjunior2014.com/en/te...d-states/#list
Flames Prospect: Jon Gillies 3rd round pick 2012
2014 Draft Notables: Thatcher Demko
2015 Draft Notables: Jack Eichel

The start of what is expected to be the Jon Gillies show. Jack Eichel may be the consolation prize to the team that misses out on McDavid.

Really shocked that Patterson is going to be the starter. He has been bad in the OHL the last little while:

.882 save pct in November, .884 in December... GAA over 4.00 in both months.

^Colours are too similar to the old Canucks V jerseys for my taste.

How shortsighted of the Germans to think of that when they came up with colors for their country.

I woke up early for the games last year but I don't think I'll be doing it this year.

Here's hoping Gillies has puts the American team on their back and carries them all the way. I'm excited to watch Reinhart, ekblad, and McDavid but I don't have any interest in any of the other players for team canada.

I wish I could pull myself to get up at 5am to watch Canada smack Germany but I just can't. We all know they're going to lay a beating on them. If it was Canada and USA I'd get up but since I know the outcome, I'll take the extra sleep. Go Canada Go!

One of my best friends is over in Sweden to cheer on Canada at all the games. I said I'd look for her on TV, but 5:30am is a little early. I'll PVR it.

Go Canada!

Last year was the first hockey we saw because of the lockout. And a lack of Flames prospects just doesn't have me interested.

I'm looking forward to getting a look at Leon Draisaitl. He might be a guy that ends up in that #5 or #6 spot in the draft. He's a big, skilled centreman. I'm intrigued by him.

Well I'll be at work an hour before the game starts so I'll likely tune-in during my 4th coffee.

Well I hope your right, because if this one is close it could be a long tournament.

Ray Ferarro after per tournament loss to Sweden "There is no cavalry coming ,this is it, this is the team"

Yeah, some of these weaker teams can trap their way to close games and make it very uncomfortable for Canada.

That's what scares me, because Brent isn't the most adaptable coach when the wheels start to fall off.

I don't know...looks suspiciously similar.

plus those canucks jerseys predate unified Germany.
Looks like W. Germany wore red and the DDR wore blue.
