So Blair Jones or Galiardi back in for Glencross, and Smith being recalled likely means Russell is out for a bit.
I wonder if Breen will ever get to dress.

Hasn't Breen had a sore tummy for 3-9 months?

Yawn. Was hoping for one of the youngsters to make a debut. Ah well. Also totally forgot about galiardi. Hopefully he'll have some added jump to his game.

Hopefully the fact that Russell was not put on IR is a good sign that he'll only miss the Blues game.

Is Breen hurt?
If not, they are horribly mismanaging him.

I don't think he's hurt, they are probably calling up a d man cause it's nice to have that extra body just in case.
Plus I thought it was just common practice to have an extra d man, and a couple extra forwards

I wouldn't mind seeing Cundari get a chance.

He doesn't really deserve it to be honest. He's been extremely underwhelming so far this season. He's still passionate about the game and brings energy, but just hasn't shown what he showed last season when that adrenaline was running through his body in Abbotsford and Calgary.
I personally think Billins should've got the call up.

Heard on the radio the other day...
They like him but don't think he's ready for prime time yet. The coaches are working hard with him.
They can't send him down because he would have to pass through waivers and the Flames think they would lose him.

I doubt anyone would scoop him up, he hasn't shown anything at the NHL level to justify the waiver claim.

I think the Oilers might pick him up if he went on waivers.
Because Oilers.

Breen wouldn't get past Buffalo or Edmonton if he was waived. He would improve either defence.

NHL teams have a pretty good feel on who will be claimed and who won't. If they think Breen will be claimed it's likely because in trade talks his name has come up as a piece.

He is hurt.
He has "Notclosetobeinggoodbutwouldrathergeta6throundpick forhimthanlosingthatawfulwasteofaspotfornothing... .itis"
They aren't mismanaging him, he sucks. They are mismanaging that roster spot.

When I read the title, I thought that was kind of odd recalling a defenseman to replace a forward spot. Then I realized, Kris Russell got hurt too and we still have a couple of forward as healthy scratch. I guess if Russell is healthy, Flames wouldn't have to recall anyone from Abby.
I don't understand the Chris Breen situation. Is he still injured that's why he is still in Calgary because it doesn't make any sense to keep him in Calgary as a healthy scratch. I would rather see playing more minutes in Abby than just to sit around watching from the press box.

Waivers. Doubt he'd clear. That's why the last time he was in Abby it was a 'conditioning stint'

I would hope the Oilers claim Breen if we put him on waivers. Another pylon for guys to walk around and score on their pathetic goaltenders.
Breen may develop into something and may have looked good in the AHL but he was horrible in his short time up here and hard to imagine any team, even the Oilers seeing him as a legit option to play in the NHL anytime soon.

He's played 3 games here, one he was good, two were bad (One of which he was injured)
I'd like to see more before before I condemn him. He's a +7 in 10 games with the Heat
