Ovechkin with 400 for the career (28 in 32 games this season).
-11 for the season though, which hurts him if he's looking for his fourth Hart Trophy.

Another home-away series concluding this evening is the Avalanche and the Stars. It is 1-1 late in the first period. The Avalanche defeated the Stars last night in Colorado.
The Sharks are up 3-0 over the Blues, the Canucks and Wild are tied 1-1, and the Blackhawks are up 2-1 over the Predators. The Capitals have run into penalty trouble, including a charging major. The scored two quick goals on the power play and lead 4-2. All games in the second period.

Leafs lose again. Now only one game above .500, with a minus 6 goal differential, and they have a league worst -9 shot per game differential.
On a completely unrelated note, I haven't seen that one annoying Leaf fan post in quite some time now.

Yep, after torching the Blackhawks on HNIC 7-3, Leafs back to their usual ways of being severely outplayed.
Once again, they're doing practically nothing to prove that they can do a whole lot of winning unless they get out-of-this-world goaltending, which they got a lot of earlier in the year, but not so much lately.
That said, goaltending is not the problem for the Leafs. Problem is consistently poor defensive zone play, combined with an offense that's dried up.

The Panthers have won four straight games now and are just four points back of the last playoff spot in the east and six back of the stinkin' Leafs.

Carolina is one of the top 3 in their weak arse division, so they actually sit higher in the standings than the Leafs.....seeding wise.
Since FLA is in the same division as TO they have to pass TO, passing Carolina does nothing for them.

The realignment allows for a fifth place team in a division to get in the playoffs if the fourth place team in the other division of the same conference has less points.

Yes, and Toronto is already the fifth place team in their division getting the cross over you are speaking about.
Boston
Tampa
Montreal
Detroit
Toronto
The Rangers, Devils, etc are trying to catch Carolina because they are in that division with Carolina and passing them would put them third in that division.
Florida has to catch Toronto for fifth place in that division, or no dice.
