What is your Internet speed?
I have Shaw 25mbps. I'm thinking I should upgrade, but not sure if it will really be worth it. I have a mid-2010 macbook pro, so I figure at some point my computer will hinder any advantages to having more bandwidth.
I don't really play any online games, but I do download and stream a lot of content (CBC hockey games, YouTube in HD, etc).

During the week from 3pm to midnight approximately, my speed drops to about 1/10 of this making watching utube or centre ice almost unwatchable.
My plan is for 25Mbps down and 2.5Mbps up.

I think 25Mbps is fine for streaming unless there's lots of people in the house, downloads just take longer so it's just a question of how long you want to wait for a download.
Gaming even if you did it wouldn't be a factor, streaming takes up a lot more bandwidth than gaming.
Other than being to download a large file faster, not sure what other benefit there is.
I wanted the 10Mbps upload for work.
