The schedule for this season really sucks

What's with all of these big gaps in the schedule. So many off nights, I don't recall it being this bad in previous years, but maybe that's a placebo effect.

Anyone else annoyed at how many nights of no Flames hockey we've had lately?

I'm sure it is less condensed than last season because that was a lockout shortened season. This is likely more in line with what normally happens.

That week long break earlier sure was rough though.

I can't be entirely sure, but I BELIEVE I heard that Calgary doesn't have any gaps longer than 3 days for the rest of the season, while they've had at least a few long ones thus far.

Perhaps it's scheduling kinks just due to the new divisions. Quite a few teams have experienced the same.

True, I missed that. I also thought they were extending the season a bit due to that which would mitigate it a bit.

The schedule for this season is amazing, every eastern team visiting once and playing twice against the Flames.

Only one home game against the Blue Jackets and one Saturday home game against the Wild. Not 6 wild games this year but 2 (and only one at home...) enough said.

Aside from the few gaps I am pretty happy compared to previous years.

Other than the Olympic break, that is correct.

I'm pretty sure every team has the extended gaps for the first couple months of the season. Then the months leading up to the break, and after, it'll start getting more condensed.

Don't know it was after, or before they played calgary, but toronto had a week before their next game.

And, just and assumption, but it probably also didn't help that Carolina was late submitting their arena availability

Wasn't it implied that they intentionally play less games at the start of the season due because of the nfl?
