After Garrett goes off about the (supposedly) dirty hit on Sedin in the Kings game, he's conspicuously silent when Sestito connects with his shoulder squarely (and principally) to Del Zotto's jaw when he's tied up with another Canuck and vulnerable.
Shocking to no one.
Edit: For what it's worth, Canucks analyst Gary Valk says the Sestito hit could get looked at by the league, so it's not just my bias

Canucks continue to lose.
They'll need to make a move soon or it's going to be too late.

We can only hope Gillis starts making more desperation changes.
After watching Calgar,y you think the franchise would realize the window is closed, and try and quickly do a rebuild while the assets have value.
They are not good enough for the division anymore.

I hope the Canucks realize that the window is closed and start the rebuild sooner rather then later.

Agreed, it won't happen though, ownership wouldn't allow for it. It still is a business and as long as the Canucks remain profitable they will be able to milk every last dollar from the customers. I don't think that the Canucks are making the playoffs this year and they likely will fall fate to the same fate as the Flames from a few years prior in which they aren't good enough to make the playoffs, but not bad enough to get elite level picks. I was a fan during the lean years in which the Canucks were a dreadful team with Messier leading the charge to the bottom and I will cheer for them through thick and thin.
The weird thing is, I just don't really care as much anymore, it has stopped becoming a passion and has just become an interest... I didn't even know that the Canucks were playing today until I got an update on my phone telling me that they had lost.

Farhan Lalji was also saying on the radio that Sestito could be suspended.

When ranked by point percentage, the four Canadian teams are all in the bottom five in the Western Conference (only Nashville keeps Vancouver out of the bottom 4). In their last 10 games, the Canucks only have one more point than the Flames, and have one less point than the Oilers.
The Canucks also have a lot of long(ish)-term, big(ish) money deals on the books. They have 9 contracts right now that are a minimum of $4.5M cap hits, with a minimum of two years remaining beyond this season. They're less than 3 years removed from being in game 7 of the Finals, and less than 2 years removed from winning their second President's Trophy. Their farm team is also the worst team in the AHL right now.
They have pretty much all the ingredients in place for a long, slow descent to hell over the next few years. Except for the President's Trophies, they're in a very similar place to where the Flames were a few years ago.

Probably the correct call on that disallowed goal, but a part of me wants to blame the french ref.

You know when you watch the old WW1 footage of aerial dog fights when the pilot gets hit in the cockpit and the plane keeps flying straight for a while and then the pilot dies and leans over on the stick and the plane goes into that spirally plunge into the ground, engine screaming, flames coming out of the fuel tank, before the plane crashes spectacularly into the ground and erupts into a fire ball that lights up the night sky.
Well Gillis is the pilot and the Canucks are that plane.
That window closed slightly faster then I thought it would, I figured they had this year to make those big moves and makes one last serious run at the cup.
This is a team that can't score and their defense is looking a bit creaky.

Phoenix is sloppy early and give up a long 5 on 3 with too many men plus a hold...Kane with a beautiful tip in...then a broken play that Shaw sweeps a weak backhander, that eludes Smith...a little bit later, Kane doing the globetrotter thing puckhandling through a bunch of Coyotes, drops it to a completely uncovered Hjalmarsson, and a wrister through the crowd around Kane goes right by Smith...3-0 'Hawks with 12 minutes gone in the first.
This is the 7th of seven on the road for the "Circus trip"...Raanta is in net for my guys..

This seems so odd to me, Western Canada cheering for the Habs...as an old-timer, the Habs will ALWAYS be that hated team that dominated the League in the 60's...evil empire, indeed.

Leafs fans have an extended Christmas break. Just like with the 'Nucks and Easter and the Oilers with Remembrance week festivities.
