Default Police Helicopter Crashes Into Pub In Glasgow

Police helicopter crashes into Glasgow pub
Human chain formed to pass unconscious people out of the pub, witness says

Quote:
A police helicopter crashed Friday night through the roof of a popular pub in Glasgow, sending injured revellers there to see a ska band fleeing through a cloud of dust in what witnesses called a scene of horror. Scotland's leader warned that fatalities are likely.

Photos aired on local television showed what appeared to be part of the helicopter's rotors sticking out of the top of the pub's roof. Rescue workers swarmed the door of the pub and several fire trucks were on the scene.

First Minister Alex Salmond confirmed that a police chopper was involved in the crash, saying that rescue efforts at The Clutha pub in the city's centre were in full swing.
I hope everyone is okay!

That pic. with the blade sticking out of the roof is horrifying. I cant imagine that everyone came out unscathed but hope for the best.

All my friends on facebook talking about it. There was a music event on in the pub so it would have been busy. Some Scottish media saying there is 3 fatalities

Either one or three dead, number expected to rise according to the BBC.

Damn, that's a shock after hearing 1-3. Terrible news (well, to everyone except Daradon I guess ), couldn't imagine the feeling of sitting in a bar and next thing you know a chopper crashes through the roof.

Like the nightclub fire on Rhode Island a few years ago, I always try and put myself in the tragedy and imagine what it would be like. I'm already a claustrophobic person, I couldn't imagine trying to escape these types of situations.

I'm sure there are better news sources out there but I follow Celtic and read this earlier. Quite sad...
