Why? Has he been that bad or just hurt?

Combo of both. Been injured and Tippet has been unhappy with his play.
That being said, please Calgary pick him up. Big, stay at home defenceman. I would LOVE to see him in a Flames uniform.

Kerr would have a hay day shouting with over excitement Rusty Klesla several times during a Flames game.

He's an upgrade on Butler and can help be a mentor for Brodie or any of our other young D coming up to turn them into solid stay at home D like he is.
We need a guy like this. Badly.

I used to live very close to Doug McLean when I lived in Toronto, and he was very proud of the player Klesla bad become. Really raved about him.

Just under $3 mil and a UFA at the end of the year. Might be worth a shot, but not sure how there is a long term fit. I imagine the fallback is to flip him at the deadline, but other than Jagr, does this happen often?

The #Coyotes have confirmed they have placed D Rusty Klesla on waivers. Have not been happy with his play lately from a physical standpoint.

Feaster would be silly not to pick up Klesla, they could flip him at trade deadline. More picks Feaster, more picks.
JMO i like his stay at home solid defending. PHX giving up on him, snag him.
31 just at that right age for a D man too.

Do we want to pick up Klesla and add another aging vet to out lineup. I can hear the outcry now
What happened to D'Agostini this was a guy that had a 46 point 20 goal plus year and was heavily hyped.

I would argue that if we pick up Klesla our waiver position drops, do we want to burn our pick on him.

Like this thought process. Trade Butler after we claim Klesla and flip Klesla at deadline. Low risk maneuver.

Gah... NHL waivers do not work like this. Teams don't lose waiver position by claiming a player off waivers.
If multiple teams put in a claim on a player, the team that is lowest in league standings gets the player.

I think they do if I remember right. If you make a claim you drop to the bottom of the list.
I could be crazy though

Always been a Klesla fan.
I'd be surprised if he makes it past Edmonton though. I can see them waiving players to make room for him.
