Is the deadline really less than 1.5 hours away?
Blackhawks' Nominees:
Player: Claude Giroux: In 3 games, Giroux had 2Goals + 2Assists for 4 points. He also had 16 shots on goal, 7 hits, and 2 take aways. He won over 51% of his face offs as well. He was also 2nd star in one game and 3rd star in another.
Defenseman: Dan Boyle: Boyle put up three points in three games this week (1G+2A=3PTS). He also had 9 take aways while averaging almost 26:00 minutes per game (25.35 min/game). Dan was also 3rd star in one game.
Unsung: George Parros: Although he's a 62OV, George was an offensive catalyst scoring 2 Goals + 2 Assists for 4 points in 3 games. He was also +3 and named 2nd star in 1 game this week.
Rookie: Brian Flynn: Doesn't get much time on the 3rd line, but managed 1Assist in three games. Also had 2 blocked shots and 2 hits in three games.
Goalie: Roberto Luongo: Tough week for Luongo, however he was named 1st star in one game (a overtime win vs rival St. Louis with 40 saves).

Montreal Nominates:
After a slow start, and a few trades, the Canadiens finally get back on track with a monster week going 4-1-0. Many players stood out including a new comer to the team.
Montreal Nominates:
Player: Patrik Elias - Patrick found instant chemistry on the first line igniting Patrice Bergeron who was floundering early. Patrik played 5gp earning 6g, 5a, 11p, and +5. He also picked up 2 2nd star nods, and 1 1st star nod in a game he pocketed 5 points!
Goalie: Jimmy Howard: - Jimmy played all five games in a busy week earning a record of 4-1-0. He also faced a large number of shots due to a banged up defensive corps going 174/183 to post a 0.951 save% and a 1.79 GAA. He also picked up 3 1st star nods.
Unsung: Bruno Gervais (64): - Going with an unexpected defensive stalwart on this nomination, Bruno who is usually a third pairing d-man logged many first line minutes with up to three regular defensemen, and four defensemen total out of the line up at different points in the week. Although Bruno scored no points he went an amazing +6 in making sure an injured Canadiens team remained competitive. He had 5sb and 2h and 1ta while logging a perfect 0ga.
Defenseman: Daniel Hamius: - Dan played 4gp and logged 1g, 3a, 4p and a +1. He also logged 3h, 7sb, and 6ta!
Rookie: Matt Fraser (60): - Matt played all five games logging 1g, 1a, 2p and a +1. He also got it done defensively with 3h, 2sb, and 2ta.
Poster: MJK: - In a quiet week of posting I'll nominate MJK for his efforts in trying to figure out this goalie bug.

Any chance we can change these deadlines to Mondays? I find the weekends a hectic time to get these in and by the looks of the amount of nominees I am not the only one.

Nashville had a good week, so we figured we would try to nominate someone...
Marian Hossa was good for 3g, 3a for 6points in four games to keep us rolling. To add to this, a lot of GMs have been inquiring about him, so clearly we have a majority decision here!
For goaltender of the week we would add Jonas Hiller who was undefeated in regulation through the four games (3-0-1) and let in a stingy five goals. His save percentage here was a gawdy .964 and the shootout loss came after saves against Toews, Sedin, Iginla and Jeff Carter... so not exactly a walk in the park!

Nothing good enough on the stars end.
MJK for attempting to provoke conversation.

Pens had a great week:
Player:
Jeff Skinner 4gp 3g 3a 6pts +3 2nd star
Skinner was the offensive catalyst this week putting up at least a point in all 4 games. He was rewarded with 2nd star effort after potting 2 goals in a winning effort.
Defense
Sergei Gonchar 4gp 0g 6a 6pts +1 1sts star
Gonchar has filled in well in the absence of EK. He piled in an amazing 4 helpers in a 7-2 romp over the Sabres that earned him the 1st star. He has played in all situations and has been good on both sides of the puck.
Goalie
Carey Price 4W-0L 2.75gaa .912 save %
In games where your team plays an all out attack, making key saves is what matters. Price was clutch going undefeated in 4 starts. He allowed just 2 goals in 3/4 games before winning a 6-5 wide open game against the Hawks where his team allowed 38 shots.
Rookie
Brendan Gallagher 4gp 1g 1a 2pts +3 - Gallagher stepped up his game as the week went on. He was on the + side on the +/- rating in 3 of the 4 games he played this week

Unsung- Matt Calvert.
On the 4th line on a team with heavy reliance on its top 9 Matt Calvert had a great week.
4GP 2G 1A 3P +3
Tied in points with Patrick Kane, Jordan Staal, Scott Hartnell this week, and more then Ovechkin and Kopitar.
Calvert is 66 OV.
He also had a 1st star nomination.
