Default Leafs preseason ticket plan

Something that I wish that the Flames would do...

Allow STH to get a credit on a couple of pre-season games. A good idea from TO.

I wish the Flames would do this too, but not for the reason that Toronto is doing it. I don't watch preseason games and prefer not to pay for them. The building for Calgary preseason games is fairly empty and they even send out promotional deals that if you (or someone scans the ticket) to all four games, you are entered to win a prize. I get the need for preseason games, but I don't see the need for me to watch them.

MLSE is also offering relief to the season-ticket holders for its NBA team. The Toronto Raptors are cutting the number of preseason games they will play at the ACC this fall from four to two. Those games will be played in other Canadian cities.
MLSE officials said they are not yet in position to name the cities that will play host to the Raptors games.
This is pretty interesting. I don't think many care about basketball, but I could see a lot of people going for the novelty of it.

I'd buy tickets in a second if they played on in Calgary. They'll likely keep it east, though. Probably Montreal and Ottawa.

Hopefully they have the court issues fixed from 18 years ago.

I recall this game, didn't go to it, but because we were out with friends at the Fox downtown the night before, and recall seeing Oliver Miller and Stoudamire across the street waiting to get into Three Cheers.

The Raptors have played in Edmonton before, so I wouldn't be totally suprised to see them come west.

It would be nice to see the Raptors play in Calgary.

I remember seeing the Lakers beat the Nets in a preseason game in the Saddledome back in 1990. It was the last time I actually saw Magic Johnson play in a live game... pretty much exactly one year later he made the HIV announcement and had to retire.

Haha, cool, I never heard about that.

Play was stopped for nearly 45 minutes early in the game after Grizzlies guard Greg Anthony took a spill. Crews used resin, cellophane wrap and duct tape trying to repair patches on the court, which contained a silicone base that was leaking up between the boards and creating an icy sheen in spots, said Grizzlies general manager Stu Jackson.

As much as I would love to see the Flames do this. I can't see them risking the lose in revenue. Maybe if the team was performing better it would work. The lose is even tougher with NFL season tickets for season ticket holders. 20% of the games you pay for are preseason games.
