From the UC, where Chicago has been buffeted by severe weather, today...Pirri with a weak side slam dunk...CC with a fumbled softie, shot by Pavelski...Kruger with a super pass to Sharp, again weakside slam dunk...2-1 going to 3rd...I am forced to watch Shark feed...happily, I don't mind Remenda...could have had a worse announcing team.

Sharks' forwards fail to backcheck a 2 on 1...Saad gets his own rebound, Versteeg has an empty net, as Niemi misses lunge for rebound, too much time and space...4-1 late 3rd.

We will trade you Kerr and Simmer for Remenda and future considerations.

Canucks trail Dallas 1-0 through two, despite outshooting the Stars 33-12.

Henrik Sedin had scored to tie it, but the goal was called back due to goaltender interference by Daniel, despite Daniel being outside the crease and making no contact whatsoever with Lehtonen. Easily one of the poorest calls I've ever seen - especially considering how many goals I saw Kipper let in where the stripes ignored an opposing player sitting on his face in the crease.

The Kings won another low scoring game 1-0 in regulation over the Rangers.

The Wild lead 2-1 late in the third period.

Looks like the Capitals have completely turned things around; even surprisingly ahead of the Penguins. Wouldn't be all that surprised if Ovechkin walks away with another Hart if he can put up 60 goals/110 points this season. Crosby is the better player, but goal totals often are a deciding factor in Hart voting.

After today the first place in the East Tampa Bay Lightning wouldn't even qualify for the playoffs in the west. The top 8 teams in the league are all from the West. Crazy disparity.

Wow, that's nuts. Another thing is that every team outside of Edmonton and Calgary would qualify for the playoffs in the east.

I can't believe the Avs are already in eighth after just 3 straight losses.

Well the Kings don't have to worry about their #1 goalie having to come back so quick from his injury. Ben Scrivens has been superb in net as he stopped all 37 shots for the SHUTOUT, his 2nd straight and 3rd on the season. It was a goalie's duel with Lundqvist but the Kings win 1-0 in reg time. The Capitals won 4-1 over the Blues but it was the Blues who made a shooting gallery on Holtby, 47-20 were shots in favour of the Blues. In the 2nd period, it was 18-3 and 19-8 in the 3rd! Halak and his teammates came out flat in the 1st and fell behind 3-0. Backstrom with 3 assists and OV with 2 goals. The Senators stunk up the joint as the BJs won 4-1. The PP is what helped the BJs as they were 3 for 5 on the PP. The lone Sens goal was on a 2 man PP to spoil the shutout late in the 3rd period. The Bhawks sure woke up after Saturday's loss to the Predators. They smothered the Sharkies 5-1. Versteeg scores his 1st goal since rejoining the Bhawks and Sharp had 3 points. The Wild win 2-1 in reg time over the Jets, Koivu with the GWG. The Stars hang on for the 2-1 reg win over the stupid Canucks. LOL. Loserongo was in goal and his couterpart, Lehtonen, was awesome in goal as he faced 43 shots. He bailed his team out in the 2nd period as the Canucks had 20 shots to the Stars' 6 shots.

wow... if the avs don't end up just being a flash in the pan and slide even further in the standings AND/OR the stars continue this surge, they look awesome, it is totally fathomable for the nucks to not even make the playoffs.

Flames troubles aside, this is a great year for flames fans with respect to their big rivals
