Default Looking for a good cheap dry cleaner

I know that the words 'good and cheap' usually don't go hand in hand, but I think I am overpaying at $3.00 a shirt at my local dry cleaner. Anyone know of a good dry cleaner in around the Northland Village Mall / Market Mall area (near my work), or near the Chinook Centre area (near my home) that charges around 2 bucks a shirt?

Thanks,
Pylon.

I was actually going to post this last week but forgot. I am living and working downtown and was wondering if anyone could point me towards a good cheap dry cleaner. I will go broke with the nearly $4 a shirt I am currently paying.

PS I apologize for hijacking your thread.

That's who I am currently using but it comes to like $3.75 a shirt. If I could get that down into the $2 range I could probably justify never washing and ironing my shirts at home.

Also does anyone know of anywhere who will give some sort of frequent shopper discount? I would be bringing in like 3-5 shirts a week and you would think that one of these places would offer some sort of discount for return customers.

I seem to recall somewhere on the south side of 6th ave SW between 7th and 6th street seeing a sign at a cleaners for shirts for $2.

I'll see if I can see the sign on the way home.

Any recommendations for suits? Not fun paying $12-$15 just to get a suit drycleaned...

Not trying to be funny. No point to dry cleaning shirts. 100% cotton? Wash cold, hang dry. If pointlessness isn't reason enough, dry cleaning chemicals next to my skin creep me out a bit too.

In my case, I don't have time to dedicate to ironing, so my cleaner has a shirt service that I believe just washes them before pressing. For me to create a shirt as nicely pressed, I'd be spending an hour with the iron; my time is more valuable than that.

An hour a shirt or an hour for the week?

100% cotton should actually be washed in warm and hang dried or on delicate cycle. Also don't wash with anything else or the fibers will wear out

Marda Loop Tailoring on 34 Ave and 19 Street. They're awesome. They only charge $3.15 per shirt too.

The cheapest I have found (by a good margin) in Calgary is Coco's Cleaners on Richmond Road. They charge $2.50, plus a 0.10 enviro levy I believe.

I have only used them once so far, but the quality seemed good. I'll be taking another batch there soon.

I too get it done in Marda Loop as it is convenient...not sure if its the same place as there are a few but its below the dance studio.
As for price, the one on 37th st in the Glamorgan community by the 4 way stop. I think they are still 2.50 or less for a shirt. I noticed a huge price increase once I preferred the convenience vs saving a few bucks.

Sorry - I'm not able to think of the Glamorgan one you are referring to. Do you have a name or a more precise location?

I guess about 30 minutes a shirt. So 2 hours a week. Works out to working for about $8/hour, and it still doesn't look as good.
