If we're still talking about this one come draft day then it will have been a good trade deadline for The Flames Bingo!

On TSN a few nights ago Burke suggested they'd be after (in order)
- players in the NHL
- players they think can step in quickly
- draft picks
I wonder what mix he eventually ends up with. I doubt many roster players move at deadline day, so my guess is a lot of the Hanowski/Cundari varietyto replace the feaster acqusitions he is not so high on.

Thanks. Fun article to read. Didn't know about the 3rd round draft pick in the Jason Wiemer trade with Tampa Bay that turned into Brad Richards. Funny how the universe works like that.

Almost included his deal to Hartford for Carey Wilson in 1991 but passed as it didn't seem like much a move.

Feb 28th 1999 not close enough to trade deadline to be included?
I think it should have been listed

Christmas of 2013, we were in Vegas. I was wearing a Calgary Flames Cap when we got on the elevator with a bunch of other people. One of them mentioned the Flames cap and what I thought of the Flames. Anyway, he said that he used to play for the Flames. I didn't recognize him, but he said that he was traded for Ville Niemanen - it was Jason Morgan. Anyway, he's still playing hockey for some minor league team in Arizona.

I hear you ... hummed and hawed about that one, but it was four weeks before the deadline.
Seemed too distant
But the Fleury trade was certainly impact.

Wow a late March deadline that year? I remember that day well but not the deadline at all. I was crushed. They did make the deal though to avoid losing him for nothing to free agency.
The Theo trade broke my heart and Iggy going out last year didn't feel any better.
