Default Dec 31 - WJC: CAN vs USA (9:30AM MT) TSN

Final day of the preliminary round:

Russia vs. Sweden 6am TSN
Slovakia vs. Czech Republic* 6:30am TSN2
Canada vs. USA 9:30am TSN
Switzerland vs. Finland 10am TSN2

*Denotes Tape delay

Canada needs to win in regulation to win Group A and get the easier match up in the quarterfinals.

Griffin Reinhart returns after serving his suspension from last years tourney.

Sweden can win their Group with a victory over Russia. However it will be a 3 way tie if Russia and Finland manage to win in regulation. (I believe Goal differential is the first tie breaker).

Hopefully Reinhart coming in will help stabilize Canada's defence somewhat. Will be a fun game to watch!

Sweden looks really good. I honestly don't think Canada can compete with them or the US. I doing even think they'll get a medal this year, I hope I'm wrong...

I am hoping Pelech is the extra guy.

Dumba-Reinhart
Pouliot-Ekblad
Bigras-Morrisey

would be my preferred lines with the bottom pairing getting limited 5 on 5 time.

Go USA Go!

Hoping for a strong showing from Gilles.

I don't think i've ever cared less about this tournament. probably due to the lack of flames prospects, i think that's the only thing worth watching in year's passed.

You could watch the tournament for the players who are draft eligible. They may or may not get drafted by the Flames.

good point, i just don't follow development leagues like those in the CHL/NCAA/Europe enough to even know who to watch or follow.

I enjoy watching flames prospects, and other than that... meh.

I hope we blow out the USA. Need to you our confidence and a win over the USA would do wonders for that.

Don't have a good feeling about this game. I think we're going to get beat up bad.

Your team just needs to make sure they stay out of penalty trouble. USA is converting on a crazy 57.9% rate right now. I'm sure that will change against tougher competition, but that's still ridiculous.
