Default Flames Fall 5 - 1

Berra hung out to dry

I don't think Jackman and Gratts should ever be in the line up together. They both play better when with some skill and are almost useless when together.

Hartley is an ugly 0-2 when scratching Sven. I personally don't see any connection with Sven being the glue keeping the team together but it's tough to sit out a guy so he can watch and learn when the team plays their worst games of the year every time he's scratched.

I think it's time Bob held some other players accountable as this isn't going to fly much longer singling out the same few guys. Even the best head coaches make moves at times that make fans and media scratch their heads. If it starts becoming frequent then it's probably not good long term for the team or the coach.

TJ Galliardi skates a lot but I'm not sure if he does anything most of the time.

NSFW!

Good thing they benched Sven. I hate Jackman. Fire Kerr. Fire Hartley. Fire Feaster. Fire Burke. Trade all the UFAs. Trade Glencross, and Jones, and Galiardi, and Brodie, and Wideman. Sign Bryzgalov. I'd think twice about signing here if I was John Gaudreau.

Good night Calgary! I'm out!

He doesn't. IMO he's been pretty terrible as I said early in the game thread. It would be good to see him spend a night in the press box but we see the same few players rotating.

There is totally and completely a connection... he pitches a meritocracy, then benches Sven. The rest of the team gives up.

Not to mention, seriously, what @#@#$@ing coach would make the line of Monahan, Hudler and... Jackman.

Seriously, Hartley lost that game, pure and simple. But the rest of the team was awful, I dont deny that. I just think they were awful due to horrid direction. On of the few times you can blame the coach... kinda like the last time Sven was benched.

Crappy deal for Berra tonight. He played well, but the team in front of him let him down. Won't be the first time though, so better get used to it Reto!

I don't understand Hartley using Jackman as the go to player when subbing out other players; especially when McGrattan is dressed at the same time. Jackman hasn't provided anything for the team aside from putting them a man down every time he fights. He isn't making an impact at all.

As for game itself. Is was alright till the collapse it he 3rd. Bad way to close the game out by checking defensive coverage out the door.

Meh.

We lost focus and let a bunch of goals in. It happens. We arent good enough for that to happen very often.

Losing Glencross is the biggest concern coming out of the night.

He can always call Kipper for advice if he want's to learn how to deal with being let down by the team in front of him.

Lest we forget our OT win in Chicago the other night.

The Flames were in this game for about 75% of it. If it weren't for a few dumb mistakes then it would've been tight to the very end.

I hope the Flames rebound from this and bring their best effort to St. Louis on Thursday.

Berra showing lots of promise. When the team in front of you is missing every second pass and no one gets back in time after horrid neutral zone turnovers, allowing Parise and friends to play tic tac toe, this is expected to happen. This effort is unacceptable, but it's important not to overreact when we saw what they are capable of doing last game.

Flames 0/2 without Sven.
