Default TSN's NHL Power Rankings- Scott "Frickin" Cullen

Ummm they have us up 2 places to 12th!! Well at least we finally now know that Cullen doesn't hate the Flames, his methodology is just effed up! hehe

We are ahead of the Kings, Ducks, Sens and Wings!

Super happy with the flames start this season. However, I don't think were the 12th best team in the league by any means. I looked at these the other day. A couple of these rankings are completely wack.

I'm glad he answers the question to whether Stempniak is a top 6 forward on our team or not. He isn't!

People may have hated Scott Cullen, but when he was crapping on the Flames in his predictions in past years, they turned out to be pretty prophetic.

Just because he has the Flames ranked high doesn't mean I agree with his formula which to me is still out of whack.

The real question to me is why is someone paid to do these lists in the first place.

ummm for the 3 years Brent Sutter was coach he already started 'guessing' we were a bottom team 22-28. Every year we were in a playoff hunt until the last week. He wasn't prophetic.

I think what you meant to ask was, does making the playoffs mean we move up Scott Cullen's list?

The answer: We can only hope, friends.

I also disagree with his methodology simply because of the results it produces. The Lightning and Avalanche are in the top 5, while the Blackhawks are at 10. Put the Hawks against either of those teams tonight and I'll give you odds that they beat them.

Would rather read the Nations' weekly updated team by team Fenwick Close and PDO articles they did last year but have apparently stopped doing.

The fact that the Oilers actually moved up a spot tells you how weak the bottom teams in the NHL are.

.... or that Cullen is a fool because everyone knows the Oilers are the crappiest team in the league.

Put them in a 7 game playoff against the Sabres, Devils or Panthers and I can't see them winning any of them.

Um, I see them beating the Sabres. An AHL team could beat the Sabres. The Oilers are a tire fire but at least they're a talented tire fire. I think they would also beat the Panthers, who are just as big a mess as the Oilers are but don't have the top-end talent (they do not employ any Taylor Halls, while the Oilers have several Jonathan Huberdeaus).

I fully agree they'd get trounced by NJD and PHI though, neither of those teams are as bad as their record suggests.

Sorry but
Miller >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dubnyk and
Thomas/Markstrom>>>>>> Dubnyk.

Unless the Oilers plan on scoring 6 goals a game. Then they might have a chance to squeak one series out.
