Facebook Bots
So I'm trying to generate some more likes for my company's Facebook page and I decided to run a one day trial of a paid advertisement, just to see if/what it would generate. It ended up generating a few likes over 24 hours, which seemed great...
Then I started talking about it with a friend of mine, who said her husband's company had run advertisements over the period of a couple of months and were positive that a lot of the likes they had received, were not even real people. I then looked further into the likes that I had received, and one is definitely suspicious. Someone from Toronto liked my page, which immediately seems strange, as my page is for local mortgage brokers. Furthermore, "her" profile picture is Mickey Mouse, with no real pictures to be found.
I did a quick Google search on the topic as well, and there seems to be some discussion about the same thing. I'm not sure if this has been discussed anywhere else, but do any of you have experience with the same thing? Is Facebook brave enough to do something so fraudulent?
