I put some up in my laundry room, and find they are very functional for that application. The price is right and in a laundry room you can deal with the cheaper look.

IKEA cabinets are not bad. All the hardware is the same stuff you would get at lee valley tools

My sister had them in a house and wasn't overly impressed. They were there when they bought the place and had been a fairly recent install in a major redo of the kitchen, but they didn't hold up all that well and the fit and finish of the installation left something to be desired. On the other hand, her family seems to be fairly hard on things, so it may be a function of that.

I'm putting them in my basement suite. Cheap and effective. I might not use it for a fancy kitchen, but a laundry room I absolutely would.

Once they get damaged or wet it's hard to fix but they're good for cheap. Probably not a good rental house thing

I've had a lot of Ikea crap over the years and every time my wife and I try to assemble them it almost ends in divorce. But I'll keep trying until I get it right.

I have Ikea cabinets in my laundry room, and the entire kitchen is done in them as well, all with soft close. I think they're great! One of the few things Ikea got right. Then again, I bought the house with them already installed, so I can't speak to that process; though I can imagine if it's anything like other Ikea stuff you may be pulling your hair out by the end.

They're pretty damn good for the money. I've put them in three rooms in various properties - kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room. If you don't want to them to scream ikea, pay a bit more and don't get the basic Adel white ones - everyone can spot that a mile away.
More often, perceived crappiness of these cabinets can be attributed to the installer....

I was just going to say the opposite. You can buy almost every piece separate so if something gets damaged it's really easy to replace and barely costs anything.
I've installed 2 IKEA kitchen's in my rental now and they're great. Well actually it was the same kitchen twice following the flood hence the replacement part experience. For the price they can't be beat and IMO they hold their own against cabinets that cost much more.

Unlike cabinets from most other companies, where you pay for much more than you get.
Cabinets are probably the best thing IKEA does. I would highly recommend them.
Absolutely love them in my kitchen.

The only thing I can tell you aboue Ikea cabinets is don't let me put them together for you. Messed them up so bad, you couldn't even tell they were cabinets

Had an idea!

Higher end IKEA cabinets use Blum hardware which is probably the best quality stuff you can buy. Worth the price of the upgrade.
