Default Older cat to give away

Hey CP, unfortunately my sister in law has to give away there cat due to finding out there 2 year old son has allergies. Crappy situation, so I said I would reach out to all the wonderful animal lovers on CP to see if someone could take him.

He is almost 10, very friendly, loves kids, doesn't scratch and gets along well with other animals. He has been neutered, and all shots are up to date. I know the cat personally and he is very friendly and affectionate.

If you're serious, I'd gladly pitch in towards transportation costs to help get the little guy out to you. It can't cost that much to put a cat/cat carrier on a plane from Calgary to Toronto...or can it?

Your son is obviously defective.

I kid, I kid. Sorry I can't help. That is a really crappy situation.

I see he reads tabloids, is he going to be a bad influence on my ragdoll?

If this is possible, I'd be in on it too. I wish I could take him but our cat does not like her own kind. I think she'd bitch slap him too much.

You are a good bunch of guys here on CP. I had one guy PM who would be willing to take him if nothing else comes through.

I am curious though and might have to check out how much it would be to fly a cat out to Ontario....

Hi Top Shelf,
I think you can fly cat with WJ or AC for $50 + GST per domestic flight in the cabin (and I imagine something similar in the cargo compartment). I have done this several times with a small dog and that is what they charged me.
Good luck!

The cat was there first.

The ad should read:

"2 year old boy to give away. Many hard years of labor left in him.. just a wuss around animals"

I just flew two cats from Halifax to Calgary on Air Canada (without me having to be on the flight) in August and it cost me around $300 for both in one carrier.
It's cheaper if you're actually on the flight.
