Default Sidney Crosby Appreciation Thread

I am sure there are a lot of people out there who don't like Crosby, I used to be one of them.

I have certainly changed my tone over the last few years. This guy is amazing.

Before he got his first concussion in the outdoor game he was at almost a 2 points per game pace. Now that he appears to be healthy again he is at that pace again. He used to be known as a play maker, then he scored 50 goals.

8 games, 17 points already. Leads the league in goals.

He can score, he can pass, he's awesome.

I like Sidney Crosby and if he plays a full season this year he's going to win the scoring race by 30-40 pts, he's gonna finish first if he plays 60 games and he should have won the Hart last season as well.

The Gretzky of this generation. Where do you guys think he'll place all-time once he retires?

A cut above the rest for sure. We're so lucky to have a player like this in today's NHL. He's our Gretzky.

Not even close. Maybe the Mario or Lindros depending upon how the rest of his career turns out but he's nowhere close to being Gretzky.

Blasphemy. Lemieux was as good, if not better than Gretzky. Lindros was not.

I think Mario at his peak was as good as Gretzky. The problem was that he was never healthy enough to keep it going, so Gretzky wins because he kept it going for many years. But I've never seen anyone dominate a game as much as Mario when he was on. It was unreal. As amazing as Sidney is, I don't think Ive seen him ever dominate quite to the same god-like level.

I know that Sid is nowhere near as good as Gretzky. I was just saying that in this generation (the 2000's) he's probably the closest you'll get to Gretzky and Mario

In your opinion of course. I would take Mario ten times out of ten.

He's closer to the Jagr of this generation than to the Lemieux or Gretzky.

He has some good tools and definitely the potential to be one of the best, but he's lacking a key ingredient; The passion and desire to be the best/win championships. Sidney Crosby has this in spades. Ovechkin is........well..........Ovechkin

I'd place him behind Lafleur to be honest. I don't see the hype. He's good, but he's not "great."
