He's not an elite goaltender but he's still certainly an NHL caliber one. Would be shocked if he doesn't join a big club.

He probably hasnt signed yet because he is looking for big money and long term even with his buyout cash

It kind of shows his commitment to playing in the NHL this season.
He could of signed in Europe for more money and played but would have had to clear waivers to come back to the NHL this season.

I bet you he is working harder on debunking than confirming.

I wouldn't be surprised if teams simply don't feel he's worth the distractions he brings with him.

I hope he signs in the East and knock the Flyers out in the playoffs. LOL

That guy was our nemesis when he was in Phoenix.
I would say he's a better option than any of the goalies we have, but with such a small & weak defence corps I fear he would struggle in Calgary.
Would anyone sign him on the cheap?

No mention of Edmonton in that article. Maybe in November month?

I don't know why he doesn't compete in Europe at this point. He must really want an NHL contract. An ECHL stint would improve his stats dramatically for a team looking at a goalie in a spate of injuries. Too bad Pittsburgh has declared they don't want a vet backup while Vokoun is out.

He'll have a perfect 1.00 save% in the ECHL. Every time an opposing player might score, Ilya will distract them by throwing huge wads of cash in their face.
He's good guy.
