Damn... Luke Adam is a big strong kid with some upside. Defenitely better than Nemisz. And Jeff Skille is one of those solid utility guys who can handle limited icetime.
Should br interesting to see what else hits the market.

I remember when people were sorely disappointed that Adam wasn't included in the Regher trade.

If we didn't have an overabundance of forwards Adams seems like a good guy to have compete with B. Jones, Knight, Galiardi etc. for the 3rd/4th line center if/when Monahan goes back to junior.
But tough to fit him in with the overabundance of guys we already have both here and in Abbotsford.

Luke Adam off waivers is a better alternative then having to eat a Liles contract to get Joe Colborne that everyone in Toronto seems to want to shove down the Flames throats.

What about Luke Adam? He has 14 goals and 11 assists in 74 NHL games, which are good numbers.

How long do teams have to submit a waiver claim on these players? You would think that GM's would wanna see who all is available before starting to claim.

You know what I meant.
He racked up the majority of those points in 11-12 when he was riding a percentages wave.
He's a tweener. We have enough of those.

I'd take a chance in Adam. No risk here. How many contracts are we at?

I wonder which team will pick up Skille, in blatant response to the fanbase, wanting more "skill" from the roster.
One of the greatest Flames trades happened around this time 11 years ago, the weekend before the season...Suitcase McAmmond (re-acquired later in the year) and the underachiving, snivelling, lazy, "I'm good enough to be in the league and can't be bothered to put in work to get better" Morris, to COL for Yelle and Drury.

Goloubef is a right-handed shot defencemen and former teammate of Ramage at Street at U of Wisconsin but if he can't crack the BlueJackets lineup he may not be a player you'd want to keep with the big club all year. Intriguing player though at only 23.

Teams have up to 12 noon ET the day after the player is put on waivers. So if the player is placed on waivers today they will have until Sunday 10am Calgary time.
That being said the information I got about Buffalo and Columbus' waiver wire wasn't clear if the players were waived today or will be waived tomorrow.

If claimed off waivers do they have to stick with the big club for a certain amount of time or can they be assigned to the AHL right away? I thought I read last year that if a player was claimed off waivers they couldn't be sent down.

I can't see the Flames picking up Adam. It'd be a different story if he could be sent down to the farm, but I just don't think he's proven enough to be plucked and shoved ahead of Horak or Monahan. If it was between him and Blair Jones, I could see it.

A vast majority of which came on a random hot streak when he got to center Vanek and Pominville for 10 games. In his last 30 NHL games he's put up 2 points and has struggled to be an impact player even in the AHL.
He's been jumped over by a pile of prospects at this point and it wouldn't impact us at all to see him go.
