So I want to ship some money to Canada
I went to Canada, had an awesome time, spent all the cash I took, but came back with a cupholder full of change.
I want to ship it to someone on Calgary Puck, but before I start a contest for my change thread, I'm curious of the legality.
Will it get "confiscated" in customs?

I'm 90% sure that sending cash in the mail is illegal...

Calgarypuck barely blinks when our 100's melt on our dashboards, we have no use for "change".

It's not recommended, but not illegal

Just exchange it and donate it to a charity there.

That's part of the fun. Less than $20

No place to do it around here that would leave me with anything to donate, really.

A US citizen can open up any type of account that a Canadian can. You need: photo ID (passport or drivers lic) + SSN + W9 form for the IRS.
Or, just throw it over the fence and tell us where you're at. We'll scoop the change.

You can send it to me, I'll buy something sweet and uniquely Canadian with it and send it back.

Often banks won't deal with foreign change.

1. Put it in a plastic baggie.
2. Cover it with talc, baby powder or some other white powder to protect it and ensure it does not get all sticky.
3. Put it in an envelope and address it to BINGO at CP
4. Put your name as Pablo Escobar jr.
5. Hilarity ensues or profit. Not sure which.
