If someone would have told me they would have come out of this game with a point I would have taken it but blowing a 4-1 is pretty bad no matter how much talent is on your team. Pretty mediocre goaltending and horrible special teams but good effort level for the most part especially in OT.
I would hope most would see after this game why it's important that Monahan and Sven both get sent down. Hartley is in job preservation mode and he's not going to play any kids until they are mathematically eliminated like last year. No PP time or OT shifts for either one. What's the point of keeping them up?

If that's what we can expect from the Flames this year I'm okay with that. I expected us to get trounced by a superior Caps team. We totally dominated them in the first and OT. We're a big underdog in a shootout to them.
Stupid Oilers.

Win or Lose it was exciting hockey that I can enjoy watching this year.
PP needs some major work....doesnt help watching how lethal Washington is.
Back check was incredible tonight....Washington rarely had time to drop the puck and set up.
Faceoffs need a ton of work but nothing we didnt expect.
Great all around game. GFG

Keep McGrattan in the lineup for all 82 games if he plays like that. Provides toughness, can throw down with anyone. Draws a penalty that leads to a goal, assists on another. For a 4th liner that was pretty much an ideal game by him.
