Default Oilers claim Luke Gazdic
Just got MacIntyre and now another 240 pound meathead. Rumor has it that this also puts the Oilers at 50 contracts!

But the goon in hockey is dead.

He was not great at the AHL level as a player. Also not really a goon, can fight but doesn't really rack up huge PIMs. Maybe they see checker potential of maybe they were missing JF Jacques.

The Oilers should just balls up and trade one of the kids for a legit big power forward instead of trolling the waiver wire picking up scrubs.

That looks about right. Hasn't really fought any heavyweights in the AHL even.

So he can't fight, and can't play hockey. Seems like a pretty useless pick up.

If you ever talk to MacT, he really comes across as an intelligent guy.

But one has to wonder if he actually has a plan. This move plus the MacIntyre one were clearly reactionary in nature.

Then again Lowe hiring MacT to be GM without interviewing anyone else was a reactionary move too.

Seems like everything that organization does is emotion-based.

Close, .... 49 I believe.
That is why I didn't like the MacIntyre signing last week. Way too reactive a move by MacTavish after the Gagne injury.

Oilers need Steve MacIntyre's bodyguard that's why they picked this guy on waiver.

I would rather have Jackman who can play and sometimes fight than having a couple of goons who will play 2 - 3 minutes a game.
