Dalpe is similar to Luke Adam. Highly touted but failed to establish himself after getting multiple chances and has no been passed by other prospects. Likely was headed to waivers. What does this mean for Shinkauruk and Bo?

They both likely headed back to Jr eventually and this just gives them better options to recall players if needed.

The writing was on the wall for Dalpe in Carolina. He was giving multiple chances, including time on the top line with E. Staal but could not stick with the 'Canes. The Hurricanes would have lost him when put on waivers, so from a Carolina perspective at least they got something in return.

Most people think Delpe seems to still have a chance at being a decent player so for now I like this deal

McKenzie said he had been played mostly at wing in Carolina but he is a center and has put up good numbers in the AHL

I don't think this effects Horvat or Shinkaruk for now

Basically Delpe for a 2014 4th...the other two guys are saw-off no-bodies...AHL depth at best. Don't know anything about Delpe but another center can't hurt. Someone needs to tell GMMG that you can also trade to AQUIRE picks!
