Gave up a ton to get him so makes sense to sign him. Wonder what the $ is?

Good player but I'm sure they over paid for him.

Knowing absolutely no details about this contract I can still sum up this thread.
50%: Way too much and way too long
35%: Good money, but maybe a few years too long
15%: This isn't such a bad deal

you're already wrong because your post and my post have nothing to do with the contract.

Seems a bit much for him but I guess that's the going rate. I wouldn't have thought more than 5 but that's not too far off

Put me in the "seems high" group. Maybe if they were having great team success, it would make sense. Maybe they'll prove me wrong though.

Hes no allstar like #15, so seems like a reasonable price.

Leadership (former captain), 0.8 points per game career. Wouldn't expect anything lower.

good deal.. Heatley is good as gone.
Wouldn't mind him on the Flames next season for a short-term deal.

Takes him through his remaining prime years. Decent deal for current value, will look like a good deal when the cap goes up towards the end of his contract.
Consistently been around a 60 point/season player and has had a couple of close to ppg seasons.

I think he would of got more on the open market, so its a pretty solid deal for the Wild.
Gave up quite a bit to obtain him, so it only makes sense to re-sign him.
