Default BizNasty suspended for 10 games

Left the bench to scrap Jordan Nolan last night after Niolan had decked Rusty Klesla.

Bissonnette will forfeit $37,820.51. Based on terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and based on his average annual salary. He'll be back just in time to play the Kings lol.

I don't know that he targetted the head, but it sure as hell looked to me like he hit him in the head...also not a great camera angle to tell if he really launched or not.

I've always thought it was funny when a player would return from suspension just in time to play the team they cheapshotted. I think it would be cool if they held over 1 game of the suspension until the next time they played that team...they deserve the advantage of having the offender out of the lineup.

It seems like the target was the head. Both guys stand 6'3" so a chest shot should have been a little more solid and alot lower.

Klesla's head just before the hit:

Klesla's head at the point of impact:

The only thing that changes in the two pictures is Klesla's head twisting and Nolan's body moving upwards.

I was at the game and I can tell you that the hit was definitely dirty. Not only that, Nolan continued to make dirty plays on other players and that's when Biz had enough and felt compelled to do something about it.

I give Biz a lot of respect for it.

What did you see that the video isn't showing? Video angle appears to shows he doesn't leave his feet, it wasn't blindside or late, and I don't think he's targeting the head (although it no doubt got hit) so I think it was a good call not suspending him.

Are those stills not from the video? Sure looks like he targeted the head to me. It's the only thing he hits.

Here's the video: http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/con...&cmpid=nhl-twt

After the hit, you can also see Klelsa spinning and landing on his stomach. If this was a shoulder to shoulder, shoulder to chest hit, he would have been knocked backwards, not in a twist motion. Klesla isn't much of an embellisher and built like a brick wall, so he should have gone backwards, not twisted around.

Even in the slowed down portion of the video where Shanny is claiming no head contact, it seems pretty clear there was head contact. And that Nolan's skates, albeit slightly, did leave the ice. Actually you can see him do a little hop back to the ice after finishing the hit to Klesla and catch his footing.

There was contact to the head, of course there was. The rule isn't "no contact to the head" it's that the head can't be the principal target. I mean, especially with the NHL inconsistency, it's borderline but I would hardly classify it as "definitely dirty."

Maybe it's just my conditioning of seeing a ton of hits like that that were always acceptable up until the rule changes but that just looked like a solid clean hit. It's unfortunate that Klesla got hit in the head and ended up injured but I don't think Nolan was targeting the head and was (suprisingly) happy with Shanahan's explanation.

Perfectly clean hit IMO....viscious for sure, but a textbook bodycheck.

Not a fan of Bissonnette. Below average player that has made more of a name for himself being mouthy.
He exposed himself of how much of an idiot he is during the lockout.
10 games good.

The act that got him suspended is something that I appreciate. That's his only purpose, I'm not even a fan of the guy.. we won't miss him those 10 games.

His job is to stand up for his teammates, and by the sounds of it that's what he was doing. Sutter even said that this is more a case of refs who were in over their head than anything else. He didn't come leaping over the boards, he got involved in a scrum at a change where some accounts have him as justifiably being on the ice. Hell, he didn't even get a roughing minor on the play.

If he had been on the ice maybe. Or taken a number and got him later. Leaving the bench is just plain stupid.

I really don't see the issue with the hit. clearly a bad outcome, but Rusty needs to see him coming and protect himself. Nolan is playing for a job and plays an aggressive game.Guys need to be extra aware when he is on the ice.

Tough to fault a player like Bis for doing what he did. Most players that play his role probably do the same.
