Default Calgary to Perth trip

I am wanting to book a flight to Perth from Calgary.
I want to get there quick as I can. Do not mind being jet-lagged.
Can anyone give me advice for this travel?

Calgary-Vancouver-Sydney-Perth is the lowest hassle route (no US connections). Shortest route looks like via San Fran/Sydney (27 hours). There's basically no easy way to get there.

edit: unless you meant Perth, Ontario

There are a couple of options but no quick way. The most common routes are:

-Calgary to Vancouver, Vancouver to Sydney, Sydney to Perth
-Calgary to LA (or SF), LA to Brisbane (or Sydney), Brisbane (or Sydney) to Perth

I left Calgary on a Friday and arrived in Perth on a Sunday. Part of that was due to the time change but the other part was that the actual travel took about 30 hours. The difference between a "quick" trip and a "slow" trip is probably about 3 hours, depending on stop-overs and delays. In relation to the overall trip 3 hours is somewhat negligible.

Where are you staying in Perth?

I went Calgary - Vancouver - Sydney - Perth in January. There's no shorter way to get there.

Worth the trip, though... Perth was a hell of a lot of fun.

Can anyone tell me the cheapest way to get there? Looking to leave sometime in October, but not fussy about the trip length or exact day I go. Hoping to come back sometime around the start of April, but could go a couple of weeks either way if the flight is cheaper.

Wait for a Worldwide flight deal from Air Canada, use kayak.com (which may reroute you through interesting places for the cheapest rate), use discount airliners like JetStar, and make sure you're flexible with your dates.

That's the best advice I can give you, besides knowing someone personally who works at an international airline!

YYC-YVR-BKK then get onto Air Asia and fly to Perth. Should be around the $900 range after tax to get to perth. But it won't be your quickest.

Quickest and cheapest don't mingle well in the travel industry. Cheapest and funnest however

Any non-stop from YVR/LAX/SFO to SYD (or even BNE) will not be cheap. The cheaper flights go through NRT/HKG/BKK/SIN or some random chinese/taiwanese city in between before finally arriving in PER (or really anywhere in Australia).

Also look into an around-the-world ticket. They can be good value, depending on where you end up stopping, and avoid the need to backtrack.

Look into seat sales on Air New Zealand. I fly to Oz every year, and that's who I use. It's typically around $1000 for economy, and goes Cal-Van-Auckland-anywhere in Oz.
