I applaud the brave basterd who stayed behind to count them all.
I'm pretty surprised that it worked out to a perfectly even number. This suggests to me an organized military with a commander.
In short: we're screwed.
I for one welcome our new spindly-legged arachnid overlords...

State Farm filed an appeal in 2013, but later dropped it. The previous owners filed for bankruptcy around the same time. Now the Torsts are suing again. Their attorney says that State Farm won't pay because there's a policy exclusion for insects. The lawyer points out that spiders are not insects.

lol, love the title emphasizing venomous spiders. All spiders are venomous. I wonder what the people living in the house next door think?

The one thing I did learn from that article is that Brown Recluse's are apparently less deadly than I previously been led to believe.
I thought they were a "get to the hospital right away or you could die" and best case scenario you get those gnarly, life altering flesh wounds type of spider.
The article makes it seem like they're not deadly, just a painful bite.
Also, we apparently have Brown Recluses in Calgary now. #######s made their way north.

Wait for November. Little jerks wont make it through the month.
You dont wage an arachnid war against Canada in the winter!

I am very serious. All spiders are venomous. A Recluse bite may cause necrosis. Notice I bolded may because it generally does not. Not that you should screw around with a Recluse as even if the bite does not cause necrosis it will throb and itch like crazy. I am not sure where in my post you read that you would want to get bit by one, lol. I am a pretty big spider fanatic, used to breed tarantula's back in the 90's and ship them all over Canada. At one time I probably had 300 tarantula's in the apartment I had. Nowadays I have 4. A Recluse is not aggressive though, most people get bit by them because they don't see the spider and they lean against it or squeeze it unintentionally. Might be easy to do in a house with 6000 though.

Sure, but let's be reasonable. A house with 6000 brown recluse is kind of big deal when compared with say 6000 Daddy long legs. I would take my chances with them or say 6000 orb weavers. Although I might have a panic attack with all the webs.

Here is my question, what makes spiders infest a single house like that? Are they like bees and have a colony? I thought they were nomads that hunted alone, and food source would keep their numbers in check.
I would think that a house with 6000 spiders would need tons of other bugs living there to sustain the population. If so, there must be tons more creepy crawlers in that house.
So ya, burn it to the ground.

Why are people assuming I think people should stay in house with 6000 Recluse??? I simply said all spiders are venomous. I also wondered what the neighbors are thinking considering the picture of the tent thing on that house shows the neighbors house is only a few feet away.

If I were the neighbour and I found out the house was being fumigated for an army of highly venomous spiders, I'd personally pay for it to be doused in battery acid and blasted off into the sun.

Who knows what caused it. I'm assuming it's like when Mazda had to recall a bunch of 6s because spiders were nesting in the fuel lines/attracted to gasoline.
Yellowknife or somewhere in the Arctic circle looks like a pretty nice place to live right now.
