Hard to believe he only got a PTO, if the Flames weren't in a rebuild I'd say he would be a great addition

Yeah I just don't see how a guy like Cleary warrents a 3 year 2.75 mil extension WITH an NTC, but Raymond and Boyes have to scrape for PTO's. Really odd.

I think Holmgrem wants to be fired, its the only explanation at this point.

Boyes and Raymond are perpetual losers throughout much of their careers, and are definitely on the down slope recently. I can definitely see why someone would prefer Cleary over them, just not for 2.75 over 3 years.

I agree that Cleary is a better option (debatable over Boyes), but how can they not warrant at least a 1 year deal for low dough?

hard to believe that he only got a PTO after 35 points in 48 games ... WTF? Maybe his demands were through the roof or something ...

But his demands should have came down once he realized his market value. It makes no sense that he would be so steadfast and then end up only getting PTO offers.

And if this is the case his agent should be canned immediately. Both him and Raymond. If they have the same agent he should never work again.

Boyes has always been mediocre overall. Has decent finishing abilities but he is a perimeter player that teams don't need

He signed a 1-year, 1 million dollar deal last year, so this lack of demand should not come as a surprise. The Cleary contract still sucks though

That's the reason Tavares deserved the Hart last year.

To reinforce that point Comeau scored 24 goals playing alongside Tavares which is the single greatest example of a player elevating his linemate as there has ever been.

Comeau didn't play much with Tavares, which makes his drop from 24 goals to nothing even more baffling. Bailey was his center most of the season.

it's true for Boyes though, forgot how much he played with Tavares and Moulson.

The three players actually share the same representation, CAA Sports. Cleary and Boyes are represented by Pat Brisson and Raymond is represented by J.P. Barry.
