a real pitching duel. Batista tried his best to blow the save but didn't. A 12-10 final, with Hinske getting a long overdue 2 HR game, Wells with a bunch of doubles and RBIs. Only caught the last half, but it wasn't too bad. Good start, hoe they can settle down on the pitching side the next few games.

the game was really slow at times. Not an impressive performance by either team especially by the bullpens. Hinkse will probably go 2 months between hrs now.

Well after losing three of four to Tampa and getting their temporary ace in action today the Jays needed this win. Still they give up 10 runs, and have to work that bullpen yet again. Offensively the Jays have been pretty good lately getting a lot of hits. Still don't look now but who's back in first place? Yeah the Yankees despite their struggles are back on top. So the Jays can realistically hope to hang in their till Halladay gets back and finish with 82-85 wins. Should be interesting to see what they do at the trade deadline. It may be worth it for them to wait till the offseason to supplement the lineup. Get another starter, a proper closer who throws some nasty heat and scares hitters, and a first baseman with some legitimate power and it would be a good ball club.

Not much talk about this series but great to see the Jays sweep the Mariners with the win today. Takes the sting out of the series loss against the Rays. Hillenbrad and Cat have really stepped up.

Trade rumors for the Cat have really started to step up as well. Rangers might be interested.

Did the Jays ever need this sweep. Hell of a series by Toronto.

Great to see Pat Borders back in Toronto on Tuesday. He was my favourite player 10-15 years ago.

He's hit pretty well vs. the Jays this year.

Good showing by the Jays. Next series is big as well. We should be able to sweep KC, hopefully.

Great time for a sweep for the Jays. I am now really interested to see what the Jays do at the trade deadline.

Nothing major today but the Jays sent John McDonald to the Tigers for a player to be named later.

Frees a spot up for a returning Koskie perhaps?

Yeah Koskie should be back soon, and with McDonald gone no one will have to be sent down.

The log jam at infielder might just continue for the Jays when Koskie is back because with the empty roster spot the Jays recalled David Bush this morning.
