Aussie Rules Football Player Sets Fire to a Dwarf
the thread title really doesn't need to be expanded upon, but an end-of-season party got a bit surreal:
Quote:
Dwarf entertainer Blake Johnston was talking to a footballer when midfielder Clinton Jones used a gas lighter to set his clothes on fire at a function in South Melbourne yesterday.
Mr Johnston says he will not be taking any action against the club or Jones.
"The St Kilda Football Club and the player involved have contacted me to apologise, which I have accepted," he said.
"The player has also offered to make a donation to a charity of my choosing, which is the Kids with Cancer Foundation Australia."

Self-Retirement
From the title I was expecting something close to the ref beheading incident. Seems like a prank gone to far.

I like the fact that the dude isnt getting all litigious about it.
Prank went too far, dude said he was sorry and would donate some cash to whatever charity the guy wanted. Solved.

You could say he... stopped short of a lawsuit.
(I think this is where I would insert the sunglasses guy from CSI, right?)

"As a playing group we were engaged in end of season activities which in hindsight were quite childish," he said.
"I made an error of judgment in including Mr Johnston in the activity.
"I am embarrassed if this has caused angst and certainly had no intention to cause any harm to anyone, including the St Kilda Football Club and its members."
So, what, they regularly light each other on fire in the name of good, harmless fun? I guess those Aussie rules players are pretty tough!

There are no rules in Australia. Least of all in Aussie Rules football.
I've seen a guy get dropkicked in the mind.

The old ad campaign for Aussie Rules football used to even have one of the people on it say "Australian Rules? What Rules?"
I used to play when I was a kid, and it would turn into a free-for-all
