I've always heard Denver is a lot like Calgary. I've never been there though.

Denver seems to be the common answer.

Yeah in terms of location, climate and size, I would say Denver.

Denver and Salt Lake are the go-to choices for sure....however, I found that the Twin Cities (and Minnesota in general) felt very similar to what you get in Alberta as well, just on a bigger scale. To me it always felt like what would happen if you combined Calgary and Edmonton into one city (and added some more cosmopolitan flavor). I think it's quite the hidden gem in the US.

Minneapolis is the correct answer IMO. Denver is only similar in geography, not so much climate, and Denver is a driving nightmare.
Minneapolis even has a +15 system in their downtown.

If so, what would that city be?
* In terms of climate, walkability (at least for those who live and work downtown), public transport options, outdoor activities, quality of life, air quality, and so on?

On a different note, based purely on income and certain other demographics, we use Houston as the closest comparible to Calgary at my work. Both cities offer the perfect cross section of data if you want to trial a new product or launch a survey.

By vibe alone, I've always thought Dallas' downtown feels a lot like Calgary's

Hmmmm...I'll have to look into Minneapolis. Are there a lot of outdoor activities available there, particularly in the winter? Obviously, they don't have any mountains, but is cross-country skiing and snowshoeing popular?
---
Is there anywhere in Montana is that qualifies as being quasi-Calgary?

I have never been to OKC, but the photos I have seen kind of remind me of Calgary (without the mountain backdrop).

Having been to Denver, it's there, but a few years behind.

Denver isn't really like Calgary, though a lot of the Colorado Rockies are similar to the Alberta/BC Rockies.
I was last in Denver itself 7 years ago though - I spend more time in Boulder if I go down to Colorado

No. Considering Calgary has more people than the entire State of Montana...
