Another offseason injury - Souray out 4-6 months, Ducks Sign Fistric
http://ducks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=680485
Quote:
Sheldon Souray suffered a torn ligament in his right wrist while working out (off the ice) on July 17. He had surgery to repair the damage at the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles on July 25 (Dr. Steven Shin).
He is expected to be out four-to-six months (from the time of surgery).

Souray has a history of trouble with that wrist IIRC (Iggy scrap maybe?)....big loss for the Ducks for sure.

It's the other wrist:
James Mirtle@mirtle56s
The good news with Souray is he injured his right wrist and not the left, which he's had surgery on already at least five times.

@ryan_batty: Tough break for the Ducks losing Souray for three to five months. The Oilers probably could have had him back in the lineup in two months.

Yea tough break for Anaheim and for Souray, seemed like they have found a good fit there.
More room for Vatanen to show his stuff I guess.

If I remember corectly.. didn't Iggy lay Souray out (a little from behind) into the boards and then when Souray came back he dropped the gloves with Iggy and then hurt his wrist and was out again?

Souray was pursuing a puck straight into the boards, Iginla was chasing him from behind and made a bit of body and stick contact. Souray lost an edge and biffed, and Iggy basically rode him into the boards.
I don't think it was intentional, but it was still a penalty, and Souray was still pretty PO'd about it.

Time to get a bionic upgrade for the other one now I guess. He should return with a 225 mph slapper.
