Makes sense, hoped he would come and spend a year in the AHL but I am fine with this. Needs to bulk up and improve his leg strength this offseason.

Good call, Johnny. No need to rush things just because we suck.

No problem with it at all, as I don't think he'd be ready anyway physically to make the jump. Another season for he and Arnold to keep racking up points, winning more games and hitting the weight room isn't a bad thing.

Long term Gaudreau and the Flames will both be better off.

Probably a good idea. Team might be a bit of trash next year, might not be the best environment for a small skilled forward.

Good call. I will say I will be surprised if he elects to attend his fourth year though. If he walks away with the Hobey there really isn't much more to accomplish at the college level for him.

He just wants to be the first player to ever win the Hockey Baker award twice in a row . In all seriousness good choice. Looking forward to seeing him when he's ready.

As a fan of both teams, this makes me happy. BC need Gaudreau to have a shot at another championship, but the Flames will suck whether he's on the team or not.
Hopefully he adds some muscle and the Flames add some grit over the next year, then I think conditions will be ideal for him to come up and have some success during the 2014-15 season.

If it means he further develops the ability to lead a winning environment, by all means stay at BC. I know we're all excited about him, but it's best he now get stronger and learn to be a leader on the team.

Only reason I wanted him signed is to watch him in the next level of competition.
This is the best move. Especially for a guy his size.
My guess is he is still probably deep into the Flames development program to get stronger. Or he should be at least.

No need to rush him especially given his stature.

I thought he had already announced this a while back? Had something changed?

It's good, we don't want to waste a year of an ELC when he's still trying to get some size and probably won't be able to contribute much next year anyways.
