Default Not to be outdone, Calgarian buys Tims coffee for 500

What is going on?

Quote:
Customers at the Crowfoot Tim Hortons in northwest Calgary received a pick-me-up Wednesday afternoon after a mystery man purchased 500 coffees in an act of goodwill.

This comes just one day after an Edmonton man did the same thing at a Tim Hortons in the province’s capital city.

An Ottawa man donated cash for the equivalent of hundreds of Tim Hortons coffees, as well as some breakfasts, making it the third identical gesture in Canada this week.

Probably some guy testing a stolen credit card, trying to get good karma before they overload the card on a shopping spree.

I suspect so as well. Sure it's possible some guy came into some money and thought "you know, I'm gonna drop damn near a grand at Tim's to help my fellow man" and then some other guy saw that and thought "that's a great idea! I'm gonna do it too!"

But the cynic in me suspects we're gonna see a few more "random acts of kindness" over the next few weeks here leading up to something.

you get the point................ so replace Ramadan with Lent and that picture would depict actuality.

A company does this during a sales low to boost sales. Not exactly surprising.

Simply because Lent is in that Vicinity.

As MMF said, known sales lulls are normally accompanied by promotions.

I was at McDonalds in Crowfoot last night and some guy bought ice cream for everyone there. Not a bad trend to see growing.

Doubt it's because of Lent. It's just a coincidence.

But there are about 20 days in between lent and roll up the rim in 2011...
