I don't think anyone wanted Mason Raymond, the Grabovski thread isn't huge and this thread has like 2 posts saying they want Hejduk. Maybe relax a little?

Exp:
Sign him for a cheap $2 mill 1 year contract... Give him 2nd line minutes and a hand in developing our RW side. Trade deadline, get the going price for an aging top 6 (another 1st would be great) thats playoff bound so Milan has a chance for another ring.
I would be OK with that. Is there such thing as a guaranteed movement clause?

Just my 2 cents. Worth 80% as much as an American opinion! EDIT: Seeing how we round down, due to the lack of a physical penny, its worthless.
I would normally say avoid this at all costs, but I'd be open to it given how poor our right side is with talent. He is a right-handed shot and would certainly get the playing time he wants. He would also be familiar taking shifts with David Jones, and would probably settle at a reasonable price for a 1-year contract, especially knowing he could be flipped at the trade deadline to a contender to make a Cup push. Could be good for 30-40 points. A right-side of Hudler / Stempniak / Hejduk / Jones isn't a bad short-term solution to stay even a little bit competitive.
Edit: Hejduk also has a bit of playing time with Hudler from International duties, and could help mentor Horak on the offensive side of the game.
I think it would be a solid pickup only to mentor some of the younger guys making the jump up. The things they could learn from him on how to be a pro and what it takes to be successful would be great.
This isn't like signing Amonte, Friesen, Bertuzzi, or adding any aging vets to an aging core. Completely different situation as the Flames are expected to be one of the younger teams next year. His experience and leadership could be huge for the young kids.
He will probably want to sign with a contender but it wouldn't be a bad idea for the Flames to kick tires.
