Anyone know of a place downtown where I can leave my watch over lunch to get it fixed? Tried TD mall but found nothing

The Bay has the whole watch repair counter on the ground floor by the Stephen Avenue entrance.

Was just gonna post this. They're very quick as well. It's the entrance at the NW corner of 1 St SW and Stephen Ave.

I was at City Time Jewellery & Watch at 109, 425 1st Street SW yesterday. Got 4 watch batteries replaced in 30 minutes.
Service was cheerful - but not the cheapest. (It wasn't expensive - just a little more than I expected was all)

To narrow the scope of the question in the OP, are there any places that you guys have used that service mechanical watches locally?
I have a couple mechanical pieces that I'd like to get the movements lubricated and regulated, and I don't have any of the oils, the know-how, or the machine to measure the vibrations to see how many seconds/day they'll lose or gain when I regulate them. I've asked and the watch counter at The Bay in Chinook sends them away to BC, not sure about The Bay Downtown.
I'd prefer to have them serviced on-site, to avoid the wait of sending the piece away among other things.

Depends on the brand of your watch. I know there is one Rolex repair guy at J Vair Anderson. Although I have not been there in over 2 years, so that may have changed.
I had to send my Omega out to Vancouver to get it restored. Seikos, I'm not sure about. The guy at Kong's may be able to do it, my buddy took his seiko there but he didn't have to part, so he sent it out.

Depending on the brand I would only get it serviced by an AD or the manufacturer itself.

I had to send my mechanicals to Toronto.
Sometimes the AD takes way too long and charges way too much. Sometimes it's just not worth servicing an older non collector timepiece with the manufacturer. I have an old mechanical tissot that's worth very little. AD was going to charge me $70 more. I didn't think it was worth it so I had an independent watch smith do it. It was service well with no issues.

I believe Swiss watch clinic services mechanicals.

I hear the guy that runs it is a bit of a weirdo though.

That's a watchmaker job. I know the business quite well. Chances are, unless you find a place with an in-house watchmaker (these are becoming few and far between), they will send it away. My recommendation is not to do anything unless the watch is malfunctioning somehow. It's not worth the cost if there's nothing wrong with it.
If you do have to do something to it, I recommend calling Chinook Center Sears, get the Watch Repair department, and ask for Joe Jogia (a certified watchmaker).
Joe is awesome. He's been trained in switzerland by Omega. He knows the ins and outs and is an amazing watch maker.
