500 Prisoners Escape Abu Ghraib

A manhunt is underway in Iraq for hundreds of convicts, including senior Al-Qaeda terrorists, who broke out of Abu Ghraib prison after a military-style raid to free them, authorities said on Monday.

Zoinks. Sounds like things might get real again in Iraq.

Sounds like this could make for a great "locked up abroad". They have really disapointed lately.

Agreed. How does a car thief from Washington State qualify as "Locked Up Abroad"??
I'm surprised a jailbreak of this magnitude hasn't happened long before this.

No kidding. But what a stupid show.
"I was rotting in a Mexican prison for years!!!"
- "Thats terrible! What did you do?"
"Well....I was trafficking a ton of drugs...."
- "Uh...yeah, they generally throw people in jail for that. Its pretty standard actually."

Hopefully they simply shoot the ones condemned to death rather than trying to take them alive.

Yeah there was one in Afghanistan, where most of the prisoners tunnelled out.
This one however, a huge militant group stormed the prison to free the inmates.

For some reason I have little sympathy for the people in that show. Their crimes are usually motivated by greed and stupidity.

The prisoners convicted to death aren't civilized people. Why risk honest Iraqi's lives trying to take terrorists condemned to death? AQ in Iraq are responsible for the majority of the bombings and sectarian killings, these people deserve no quarter.

Me too. Most of these people are thrown into Asian or South American prisons for trafficking drugs. And not because they were forced to sell them to begin with.
I really like the show, but always wondered what the message was in this. Are we now supposed to feel sorry for them? They clearly broke the law.

Unfortunately, prison breaks are far too common in Iraq. This one, however, is a pretty massive one.
Kind of surprised more prison guards weren't killed/kidnapped.
