Interesting. He will still likely play in the WJC, yes?

That's actually good to see, its a pretty big jump.
I don't care about burning a year of a elc if a player gets better development going forward.

Flames would have to give him permission, don't see why they wouldn't unless he was an integral part of the team.

Actually think he would have been better off developing his game in the OHL playing top pairing minutes.

For the record, the Spits are saying he's going pro, one Windsor paper is saying he's staying with the Flames, the other with the Heat. At least based on Twitter.
No roster assignment has been made by the Flames as of yet.

He will still be getting good minutes for the Heat. He will probably play on the first unit PK and play top 4 minutes 5 on 5.
Good for Sieloff for showing a strong camp.

I think this should be the right place for him, good showing so far and like most defenceman trying to break in should benefit from the experience. I think he sees steady ice time for the Heat in a prime role.

Just spoke with Patrick Sieloff's agent. Confirmed he won't be returning to Windsor this season.

Good to see and I think Sieloff will get at least 2nd pairing minutes with the Heat. It's not like we have a lot of top defense prospects playing there this year.
My guess is we see him called up later in the year after some tutelage from Ward and company.

Wouldn't have minded seeing him go back to juniors for another season to develop his offensive game more, but if the Flames' brass feels his ready to take that next step I'm ok with it.
I'm not as concerned with guys like Sieloff burning a year off their ELC's because their 2nd/3rd contracts are never going to be huge anyways.

glad the Flames are serious about the rebuild and youth movement. Breen at 24 will be the oldest D-man in Abby
Hope they continue down this path with guys like Bouma or Ferland in place of Jackman or Ramo/Berra for MacDonald

Really really good for Sieloff to take the next step. Physically he's ready for the NHL, but he's got to improve his consistency a bit. He had a good game, then a crappy game all throughout the pre-season.
Can't wait to see him smash people down here.

Arsene, Lamb and McKelvie are older, but you're right. In terms of actual Flames prospects, Breen is the oldest, which still isn't that old.

All are signed for the year to Abbotsford. Not on NHL deals though.

I'm sure he prefers Stabotsford better though.
