Default Old trade joke comes true

We've all heard the old joke about a player being traded for a bag of used pucks or some such.

Well, it turns out that it can actually happen.

A football (soccer) player in Costa Rica by the name of Roger Fallas was traded to another club.....for 50 soccer balls. Yes, for 50 soccer balls. The club was completely broke and desperately needed the balls so the trade was consumated.

Bah, there's a local story like that.
Remember a few years ago when the Vipers traded a guy for a bag of bats, or something like that?

Kinda funny at the time. Less funny when he offed himself shortly after.

Didnt someone get traded for a bunch of specifically coloured seats once?

More than the Jets got for Draper.

And Tom Martin got traded for a bus back in juniors while Keith Comstock got traded for a box of baseballs.

I'd trade Butler for half a row of seats.

Tom Martin was traded for a used bus: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=389677

The best of all time, however, is New York Yankees players Fritz Peterson and Mike Kekich trading wives, and entire families, in 1973: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/sp...after-w/nT7fG/
