Replacing my Iggy Jersey

So I will still totally rock my Iginla Jersey at the dome for years to come seeing as he is the all time Supreme Leader of Flames Nation. That being said I will need to add a jersey to the Stables and am trying to decide the direction to go.

May be premature to get a Monahan.

Sven and Brodie seem like safe bets? Gio and Scarface?

Someone else?

I know most of you are probably doing the same so what are your plans?

Sven, Brodie or Monahan are safe long term bets IMO.

You can't replace an Iginla jersey any more than you can replace Iginla.

I'm in the same boat (except I'm still looking to replace my Phaneuf jersey :/ ). I think I'll either buy a retro flames jersey from the '89 cup team or wait for a couple of years to see how these young guys actually turn out/see if they stay with the team (unlike Dion did...).

I wouldn't say Monahan is a risk, he'll likely be a Flames player for years to come, and a good one. The real risk with young players is the random number changes early in their careers.

It's great to grab Boyd/Backlund jerseys so you can be one of the first to have them, but then it's kind of annoying when their second season they switch to a lower number and you're sitting their with a #60 Backlund jersey.

Although, I do know people who actually like that.

I'm going to continue wearing my 24 Conroy retro jersey until the end of time. I prefer the fan favorite players that retire as a Flame, those never go out of style

I would go with Sven. He is awesome. And his comments about not changing numbers so his fans who already have his jersey aren't affected. He will be a long time flame and will be a favourite I am sure. He is a classy, young guy and I wouldn't mind wearing a jersey with his name on it.

That reminds me that I have a retro Bouwmeester that I need to get re-done with McCrimmon's name on it.
