Default Pens resign Craig Adams 2 yrs 1.4 total

As per TSN ticker.

Good for the Lake Bonavista product. For a guy who was drafted later in the draft because of his character, he sure has carved out a nice career for himself.

Im really pleased for him.

I'd like to think his career longevity is the two years played on the same team in LB, more specifically the year I was the center on his line....or it could be the former pro golfer who was on the right wing.

I think it was the basketball and soccer teammates as well (although that would also include one Brad Isbister as well).

Also I see he's at 799 games played. I imagine he will try for one last season afterwards to hit that 1000 game NHL pension. 201 games in 3 seasons sounds pretty easy if he stays healthy.

Probably pretty safe to say that Craig plays for love of the game.

Good for him. Like a fine wine, Craig's game has improved with age (or with Bylsma)

2 rings, 799 games played, not blessed with top line talent (Isbister, his buddy, was always the gifted one) but all heart and smarts.

$700k annually is a really good salary compared to what he would earn outside of hockey and the guy is only 36 so as long as he loves playing it's still a great way to make a living.

And it is not like craig was previously making $3 mill a season. I would be surprised if the median salary for his career is over $1 million.

Plus he graduated Harvard, so has that to fall back on. I believe his parents were both doctors (I know his Mom was), so he is playing hockey for the love of it.

Forgot that his father in law was the US ambassador to Canada, though I thought saw an article recently that he just passed away.

Anyone else remember Joel Bond, Craig Adams, and Ryan Chaytors on the 1995 Centenniel Cup champs Calgary Canucks team? All three went on to Ivy League schools in the states. Pretty cool. I was 8 years old in 95' but went to a lot of those games for some reason. Uhhhhhh I thought it was like pro hockey or something.

There is no more middle class in the NHL.

As a Pens fan

Sorry to rain on the parade, but he's just too slow anymore. A liability on 5-5 and his PK is starting to become average.

I get he's a "team guy" and everyone loves him, but DB is just too obsessed with him. We have young guys that DB continues to REFUSE to play. I'd be fine if he could just be a 13th forward, but DB has never once healthy scratched Adams...

The guys that get scratched over Adams / Engelland is maddening

Glass / Adams on the 4th line... great......
