Default That time of the year...=( (TORNADOS)

Well its been pretty quiet in Oklahoma this year. Right now the news stations are going crazy and we are on full alert. I'm not sure if I will miss this when I move to Calgary or not. I definitely like the excitement but only when these things dont do any damage. I'll keep you guys updated. "On a scale of 1-10 on bad days , we are passing an 8 right now." -Mike Morgan News4 Meteorologist.

If you want to follow along like a real Okie.

Be safe! and if the tornado is passing over, just use a leather belt to tie yourself to an exposed water pipe. If you've got a spare Helen Hunt to hold on to, thatll increase your chances of survival.

Seeing a live tornado is on my bucket list. Every time there's a tornado watch I get excited. Probably less exciting if its close enough to actually threaten lives/cause damage, but I woukd really like to do one of those tornado sightseeing things they have in tornado alley.

I have seen to many live and up close. I am still in awe of the force and power of tornados. They are exciting but they do do a lot of damage , take lives, and hurt/injure people.

On a side note, if I ever think to ask my dad for pictures and the story I will post them but my father's uncle was sucked up into a tornado when my dad was young. He was carried a couple miles away and sat down in a ditch. He went in fully clothed and came out completely naked with just a few scratches. He was completely fine. The details and the story are hazy but that's what I remember from it.

On the ground in Edmond,Oklahoma:

Jim Cantore (certified meteorologist) said the following on that tornado in Edmond: "I've never seen anything like this! We are in the middle of rapidly rotating tornado.

Yeah our power is out because that thing passed about a half mile south of us. Several homes damaged down there. This would be before that picture was taken though and I don't know if the damage was worse as that thing moved into the city proper.

OKC hit again. They can't catch a break. Stay safe Nicker.

You too... did the Tornado hit the hockey rink by the baseball stadium there? We play a tournament there in 2 weeks.

Everything is north of me. Big Supercell now forming SW of me but they are saying it will hit Norman. I am in Moore, just in between OKC and Norman.

It's now a wedge tornado... 1/2 mile wide going to 3/4 of a mile wide. At Least an f4. Been on the ground for a while.

Still haven't heard of any damage beyond the few houses just south of us...and no injuries there btw. So based on that I am guessing the tornado pulled up before entering the city and the rink is likely fine.

Jeebus. Stay safe you guys. Got a friend in OK. She's up closer to the Kansas border if I'm recalling the geography correctly, so she's out of the way for right now.

Fingers crossed guys.
