Not to question your motives, but wouldn't it make more sense to just unlock your current phone?
I think we paid $50 to unlock my wife's iPhone on Rogers, and you can do it as long as the phone has been on the account for a certain amount of time (I think 9 months). I know Bell has a similar option, but the cost is higher (~ $80).
