Getting a lot of interest in these two fellows. Keep it coming! The front-runner should know who they are. If haven't been told you are the frontrunner then that means you'll have to up the ante!
Dangerous Dave Andreychuk is also patiently waiting by the phone. There is only one Stanley Cup Captain available in this offseason so don't let this once in a lifetime opportunity slip by!
In other news... recently I agreed to a contract with a certain young player only to read further along in the stack of e-mails that someone was willing to offer him a better contract. But I am a man of my word and I will stick to the first one. However, this was a sore lesson to learn so I'm going to try to be a little more patient. Please be advised!!! Patience = Virtue!

Further to the fine players mentioned above...
Vitali Yachmenev is up for grabs. If you offer less than 1.25 you won't see him in a uniform. Same numbers for Vladi Malakhov.
Pascal Rheaume and Kip Miller have both received bare-bones offers that they will sign if someone doesn't take a flier on either of them and get a good cheap depth player at anything above league minimum.

It's waaay too nice a day to be doing this but anyway...
Players With An Offer of 1.2 Million:
Yachmenev
Miller
Malakhov
That's a low number so I'm sure someone out there can beat it.
Matvichuk has been cranked up a fair bit but I'm not at liberty to say how high at this time.
Also, if any GM doesn't want me to post his name re: a UFA then please let me know. Like if I was to post "GM of the Tigers has offered Bill Backhand 2million...." but you don't want me to then tell me please. All privacy will be respected!
Good Day! It's patio time!

Okay boys and girls time for an update.
Richard Matvichuk has received an offer of 3.5 million and is leaning towards signing it. Cory Cross has received an offer of 3.2 million but we know he can get higher than that.
Kip Miller is up to 1.8 million and is feeling groovy.
If anyone can top these offers then they are in business.
Nothing like a good UFA! You ain't gotta give up nuttin' except a few bucks to get yourself and honest to goodness CPHL player!

We've just had a frontrunner drop out of the Matvichuk race but he's sticking to his guns in the Cross race and has upped his offer to 3.7 million.
Who will match?
Also, to all those with offers in on these players -- I'll try to keep up with personal replies but it's kind of hard to write back to everybody who made an initial offer every time I get a new one so please check here for updates as to the status of the guy you are/were after.
Great!

Now up to 3.8 for Cory Cross for all those interested.
It's a hell of a time to be alive!

Jealousy will get you nowhere my finely cap-fettered friend!
There were lamentations to the lord above about a lack of legitimate UFAs and this is the result!
Cory Cross has broken the 4 million dollar barrier and now sits at 4.1 million!

Jealousy?
I don't even want the guy. If someone is willing to pay $4+ Mill for him you are either one hell of an agent or someone REALLY needs a dman!

Personally, I'd perfer a silent auction. If I were still in the hunt, I wouldn't be so happy about my bids being shown to everyone. Leads to a 4.1M offer for Cross...
EDIT: But... to each their own. Do what you gotta do.

Ahh yes, I but that's the point now, isn't it?
Yachmenev is up to 1.25 million, which is still a hell of a deal and I'd like that increased a bit. Cross is temporarily stuck at 4.1 and his wife is pressuring him to take that deal. Matvichuk is at 3.5 or thereabouts.
The bidding is just starting to heat up on Dave Andreychuk and he's now at 600 grand and climbing steadily.

Rouge, I bow to your negotiation skills. If you can get $4.1m for Cory Cross, you coulda got Karla off in 2 years less a day.
Something tells me Mrs. Cross may be the silent bidder in this deal. Of course, you can't blame the woman for trying to get more cash after having to share a bed with that nose for this long...

Vitali Yachmenev is now at 1.5 million dollars per season. A good price to be sure and it's a good team with the offer but he wouldn't cry if he saw a little more.
Come on people, no love for Malakhov?

Cory Cross and Richard Matvichuk are now off the market as JTIR has made a handshake deal with 2 GMs. Just waiting for the legalities to be worked out.
Thank you everyone for bidding. It was a wild ride!
Everyone else is still up for grabs.
As you can see, with a limited number of UFAs on the block this year only the aggressive GMs will get what they are after.

Just a quick heads-up for you Kip Miller fans out there...
I've got a 1.8 X 2 deal on one line and 2.0 X 1 on the other.
I've yet to decide which way to go but I'm leaning towards the 2 year deal. A guy named "Kip" has to get security where he can.

I'll ruin the suspense for you, I'm the jackass who bid 4.1m... to me, getting a 71OV defenseman with 72DF would have cost a lot more than a bit of cap, and my team has lots to spare. I wasn't liking any offers I was getting to improve my defense, and this provides a substantial improvement without giving up assets.
More than I wanted to pay? no kidding... but there are players with worse salaries around than this, I have the money, and it improves my team, so I'm happy.

I didn't see it coming from me either... but I have the cap, could use a good 2nd/3rd pairing guy like him, and this way I don't lose any assets.

There were at one point 7 GMs, which is of course more than 20% of the league , after Cross but Thunderball had the highest bid, though not by very much at all.
"This is why we are so cheap during the season" was a line he used that I thought fitting for the occasion.
