They got to spend all that extra budget money somehow. Just remember if they are ever forced to find savings it will lead to officers off the streets and all of us being raped or murdered.

I hate that that is how government budgets work... :/ What about bonuses if you DON'T use all the budget. Or trim it from the previous year.
And I'm not talking about when it's already too far gone and they bring in some third party that really knows nothing about the system, hacks machete like, and then gets paid for it, usually screwing things up in the process. But real people in the departments making smart choices year in and out. Even down to the scrub employee who might be saving the department money just by doing an exemplary job.
I had them fly up and block off the intersection as I was turning into Shaughnessy yesterday. 15-20 motorcycle cops flying in, blocking off the intersection and access points, then a few vehicles come through. Then they all go to BP's and stop. Didn't see who went in for lunch, but I have hard time seeing anyone who requires such a dramatic motorcade wanting to eat at Boston Pizza.
I hope there is a good explanation because the optics weren't good. I heard it might be Allison Redford...BT, do you know it was training or just speculating?
