Summer Skirmish 2013 Military Museums
Sunday June 2 0900-1600. Free admission, donations to the museums welcome.
Two millenia of warfare reenactments including Vikings, Gladiators, War of 1812, medieval knights, Guns of the Golden West, WWII German vs British infantry battle, etc.
Pretty cool event, went last year. Warning it is very loud with all the gunfire and cannon fire, so maybe those with small children should be prepared.

Oh, the building off of Crowchild? It has a big sword over the door?
I dont think Canada has ever fought any wars with swords....

There was, at the least, one Japanese - Canadian soldier who was given leave to take a sword to Belgium in 1915.

Its a sword. Not a samurai sword either. Full on broadsword.
